BARBIE 2024
Barbie is inspired by the famous ‘barbie foot’ that holds an elite rank in today’s contemporary dance community. The image originates from the classic Barbie herself, the Barbie Doll originating all the way back to 1959. The piece is a solo focusing on a physical embodiment of doll-like characteristics, mainly the female body disassembling, reassembling, lack of self-governance and the fight to regain autonomy.
